Access Personnel Ltd are seeking an experienced scallop shucker to join our clients team, a well-known, leading seafood processing company based in Peterhead.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in seafood processing, specifically in shucking scallops. This role requires precision, efficiency, and the ability to maintain high standards of quality and hygiene.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shucking scallops efficiently and accurately using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Inspecting scallops for quality, ensuring that only the freshest and best-quality products are processed.
- Following all safety and hygiene protocols to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborating with team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Cleaning and sanitizing work area and equipment after each shift.
- Reporting any equipment malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors promptly.
- Adhering to shift schedules and being punctual for all assigned shifts.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a scallop shucker or similar role in seafood processing.
- Proficiency in shucking scallops quickly and efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Flexibility to work early morning shifts, including Saturdays if required.
Shift Patterns:
- Normal hours of work: Monday to Friday, 06:00 to 16:30.
- Saturday shift: 06:00 to 12:00 (if required).
- Additional hours may be required during peak production times or based on business needs.
Pay:
Rate of pay is subject to various factors. Such as sizes of seafood, experience and skill set. Candidates will be paid on a 'Piece Work Rate' scale.
