We are currently recruiting a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our well-known timber manufacturing client, based on the outskirts of Inverness.

The Industrial Electrician will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment to support the production process. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient utilisation of all electrical equipment on site.

The successful candidate would be working in a 5-crew team, with a shift pattern that would include: 12-hour nights & day shifts, covering weekdays & weekends with a very fair rota of days/nights on and off.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the safe and efficient utilization of all electrical equipment on-site.
• Repair all electrical breakdowns in the plant promptly and effectively.
• Modify and improve procedures as required to enhance efficiency and safety.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of electrical systems.
• Identify signs of equipment failure and take appropriate action to prevent downtime.
• Keep documentation up to date regarding maintenance activities and repairs.
• Install, commission, and service equipment as and when required.
• Adhere to good engineering and housekeeping procedures to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist with other engineering work as required by the Electrical Supervisor.

Requirements:

• Must possess a UK recognized electrical qualification.
• Experience with PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) systems is preferred but not essential.
• Strong industrial maintenance background is desirable.
• Demonstrated awareness of health and safety practices.
• Ability to work unsupervised and make decisions independently.
