Rotation: 11 Days On / 3 Days Off

Freelance Site Engineer Required – Major Civil Engineering Project

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a high-profile civil engineering scheme with one of the UK's most respected contractors. The project offers a fully supported rotation, allowing you to focus on delivering quality engineering work while all travel and living arrangements are taken care of.

The Role

Working alongside the Senior Engineer and Project Management Team, you will be responsible for the accurate setting out and technical delivery of construction works, ensuring the project is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out setting out for all aspects of the civil engineering works.
• Establish and maintain site control using Leica, Trimble or similar surveying equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with project specifications and quality standards.
• Produce and maintain QA documentation, inspection records and as-built surveys.
• Monitor progress on site and provide regular updates to the project team.
• Resolve technical queries in collaboration with site management and design teams.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and the client to ensure smooth project delivery.
• Assist with measurements and accurate record keeping.
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
• Strong setting out experience using Leica, Trimble or equivalent equipment.
• Experience producing QA documentation and as-built records.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Competence using Microsoft Office and AutoCAD (or similar).
• CSCS Card.
• Degree, HNC or HND in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Experience in roads, highways, drainage, reinforced concrete, earthworks, utilities, marine works or large infrastructure projects would be advantageous.
